lazy days of summer

Well I am finally getting around to another entry. So much for the lazy days of summer. Here we are less than 2 weeks from the first day of school and I don't even feel like we've had summer yet. How the time does fly by when you are having fun. We have just been hanging out, staying up late, sleepin in, and having a good time in general. We have one last hoorah scheduled for later this week. The kids and I are heading to the Southwest corner of the state to the big Hollis, Oklahoma metropolis where my grandparents live on the farm. The kids love to go to the farm and see the cows, tractors, etc. It's a great place to get dirty and just have some easy-going downtime. My sisters and I like to sit around and look at old pictures of our childhood days gone by. It's always good to be with family. These are just a few snapshots I took tonight while the kids were playing outside. We live in a great neighborhood that rolls out the sidewalk every night and the kids come out of the woodwork to play together. We have been fortunate to have some beautiful summer evenings lately.
I guess starting next week we'll have to attempt to regain some sort of a back to school schedule with earlier nights to allow for earlier mornings. Garret will start pre-k at Piedmont Primary and Logan will be in first grade at the Elementary school. Addi and I will get some quality mother-daughter time in the mornings on my days off. We have seldom had time just the two of us so that will be neat. I'll update again next week after our trip to the farm so you can see what we were up to. :)

These are a few pictures from our days at the lake and of our lazy Saturday. Enjoy!

Our First Blog

I decided to try and create a blog to make it easy for my friends and family to catch up on our goings on. I have my myspace account but not everyone has access to that as I keep it set to private. So here goes: Today is Saturday, July 21, 2007, and we are just takin it easy for a change, hanging around the house and having a fun summer day. Our schedule has been rather crazy with our recent vacation to Michigan (which I am going to try and post some pics from) and our most recent trip to the lake. My sister Kayla and I borrowed a popup camper from some of Mark's extended family and pulled it to Lake Ft. Cobb. I am proud to say that we accomplished this feat all by ourselves with my 3 children in tow. We stayed for 4 days and were mostly self-sufficient. Mom and Dad came down with their camper and we used it as the hub for meals but otherwise opperated out of our camper.

Today we have been having a little swimming fun in the backyard and dreaming of having a real underground pool. Some of the neighborhood friends have been over as well as one of Logan's buddies. The kids have now moved in and are dressing up and playing Star Wars, including Addi Grace who is up from her lengthy nap.

So if you are interested keep watching as I attempt to learn to blog!!
